An Epiphany…Of Sorts

Do you ever wish you could speed read?

I am a pretty fast reader, but when I pick up several books of interest at the same time I want to absorb every ounce of information as fast as possible.  Wish I had paid more attention to that speed reader guy on Spaaaaace Coasters or whatever that show was called.

Any-who,  I was at the library the other day with my girls taking in a live play, Cinderella and the Glass Slipper.  While they watched I browse the shelves looking for something that might strike my interest.   What I found was Ole Carlson’s Aspire: 3 Powerful Strategies for Creating More of What  You Want, NOW.  This book had to be brand new because the spine hadn’t even the slightest bend and the pages seemed very untouched.  It was as if it was waiting for me.  You see I have been looking for a ‘matter of fact’,  smack you in the head type book that was more current then some of the other books I have read about The Law of Attraction. I love this book, so far, I am just beginning chapter 3.  I put it down because so much stuff in this book really speaks to me, so much so I had to get out my notebook.  I may even just return it to the library and go buy it so I can highlight points of interest.

Okay, moving on.  Carlson has a quote in there from Maria Shriver when she was speaking at the California Woman’s Conference in October 2007.

“As long as I was trying to anticipate what you wanted from me, as long as I was trying to fulfill others people’s expectations, I was in a losing game, a game I had been playing since I was a kid. That’s  what I want to focus on this morning…letting go of others people’s expectations of you so you can own your own life, write your own story, and live your own legacy”

So I will have to pick up her book Just Who Will You Be? next.

This spoke to me because for a very long time I have been living a life based on how I thought others wanted me to live, or thought I should.  A stagnant life where I put myself on the back burner.  Maybe hoping that someone else would take me off the stove and say “hey looky here, what a mighty fine pot we have here” (in a sweet southern accent, LOL) .  Don’t get me wrong my life brings me great joy and satisfaction, however, I have been living for others instead of for myself.  I have worked jobs only for money and never for the pure satisfaction of the work.  Yes, I know that money is very necessary, but who ever said that your work should be an unhappy experience where you exchange grudgingly some  action for compensation?  I want to work in joy and happiness doing something I am passionate about.  Passionate purpose.

Nevermind What Others Think

A long while back I was in a furniture store with family and a guy who worked there came up to me and said “oh I hear you are looking for a job”.  This caught me completely off guard. He must have talked to someone who was with me (name witheld to protect the innocent, LOL).   I told him where I used to work and he asked if I had a degree, “yes” I replied.  Then he proceeded to take my number and said he would pass it along to some HR person he knew at some really big bank.  After leaving the store I was angry, angry at myself for not saying “sorry you heard wrong, I am a Personal Growth and Development Coach @ my firm Dragonfly Business Center”.  Even today when people who really know ask me what I do for a living and I tell them I am an entrepreneur, a Personal Growth/Development Coach, it seems as if they are still wondering “when is she going to get a ‘real’ job”. I hate to break it to you, this is my real job.  You see waking up every morning and being able to decide how I want to live life, work vs play is rewarding to me, and I love that each day brings exciting new discoveries  for helping others, increasing  my business and growing my  knowledge.  My income may not be in the millions, yet, but it is growing in the right direction, besides I am great at what I do.   Which is helping others have the life they want,  living for themselves, writing their own story everyday, creating their own legacy and on their own terms and doing so in with passionate faith and inspired action.  This is how I have chosen to live my life as well.

Go Forth With This Thought

In this life we have so many opportunities available to us if  we would stop and take notice of what’s out there.  Writing our own story and living our dream is a real option.  Never settle for something you really don’t want because you feel as if you can’t have it your way.  Life is what we make it, and all things are possible.  Stop worrying about what you think others may think because chances are you are holding yourself back with your own false beliefs.  Once you are happy with how you are living your life others will follow.

Manifesting Your Dreams Made Easy

For the past several weeks I have been researching meditation as it relates to manifesting your dreams and desires.  Although I have been meditating at least twice daily for several months and doing so has really relieved a lot of stress and has relaxed me quite a bit.

Anyhow, I was reading about Jose’ Silva and The Silva Method of meditation which is very interesting and explores mediation as a way to manifest your deepest desires which is just the tip of the iceberg as far as Jose Silva is concerned.  I have also been reading The Answer by John Assaraf and Murray Smith which talks about neuro-reconditioning as a way to change the sub-conscious mind to reflect your desires and create a positive mind from the use of affirmations, visualizations etc.  Still just the very tip of the iceberg.  And we all remember the hit movie The Secret.  All great stuff but I was struggling with how to make all these techniques work for regular people like me, and with so much information I was becoming overwhelmed with trying to collect quality information for myself and my clients.

There is a ton of information out there about The Law of Attraction, so much that it can cause information overload.  When all most of us really want it to live the best life possible on our own terms and live authentically.   If you are like I was when first learning about The Law of Attraction then I am sure you have a ton of material to read and just as many techniques to try, not knowing which one will actually work for you.

I have used many different techniques, flopping back and forth between techniques, dismissing one for the newest technique I come across.  Until I put together my very own toolkit that puts LoA to work and fast.

I am going to show you how to manifest your deepest desires.  This will take everything you think you know about LoA and put it in one place, one package, and with only one intent.

So What, Everyone Has A Story…..

Do you ever find yourself telling the same story over and over again with hopes of getting different results?

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.  When you want to change your results tell a new story.  The a story that talks about being proactive and giving solutions.  A story which describer your dreams come true.

My passion in life is to serve others by helping them change their mind sets in order to live the life they want now as opposed to living it “when I, have more time or money, etc.  Often you get so caught up in telling the story that you never see yourself out of that story.  You have big dreams and plans but the story about not having enough money, time or resources is really whats holding you back.

Do you ever tell the story about what you want then in the same breath end the story of how you can’t have it?  Do you realize that in that breath you took away the belief that you can have anything you desire?  Asking for what you want, having unwavering faith that you can have it, and taking inspired action is really when the magic begins.  The magic is being able to create the life you want through asking, faith, and inspired action.

Ask….

How can you have what you truly desire if you never ask?  You have to boldly ask for what it is you desire.  The sky is the limit and don’t be timid.   Asking is really easy, all you have to do is decide you want something and ask for it.

Faith…

If you have asked for it, do you believe and have faith that you can have it?  Faith must be deep and unwavering.  Because faith and fear can not co-exist you have to commit yourself to being faithful to the end.  Faith that all things are possible if you only believe they are.

Inspired Action….

Now that you have asked The Universe to meet your desires, and you believe with unwavering faith you will be guided to take inspired actions to have that which you truly desire.  Every step will be easy and effortless as though you are walking through a maze but instinctively you know exactly which way to turn.

Some tips for changing your story.

Go ahead tell your story, but write it out on paper, read it, and accept it as what you have created in your life thus far.   Then write the story you want, include all the details about what you truly want.  Describe exactly how you see your life in the future, but write it in present tense.  The sub-concious mind is where your mind set change takes place and it only recognizes the present. Align yourself with this story, and anytime you get the urge to tell your old story  immediately re-focus on your new story.   This is the vision statement for your life, the new story of the life you truly want to live. Read your vision twice daily along with your affirmations.  Doing this will certainly change not only your story but your reality.

Don't Be A Hoarder, It's Not Worth It

Ok have you ever seen the show Hoarders?  Well if you haven’t it’s a show about people who hoard stuff, all kinds of stuff in their homes.  I even saw one episode where a women had so much stuff in her home she had to sleep on the floor and was in jeopardy of being evicted because her home was a fire hazard!  Terrible, right?  I know, I know.  You are probably wondering what this has to do with any of the lessons I teach or topics I talk about,  but wait you’ll see.

“Some people think that it’s holding on that makes you strong, but sometimes it’s just letting go.” – Unknown

I used to live across the street from an old man who had a car that was always filled up to the windows with stuff he never took out.  In fact it was so full of stuff that his car could barely get down the street.  Now as I write this I wonder, Is that how my mind is, weighted down with stuff from the past and  old feelings?  Feelings and thoughts that are holding you back in life.  You may not think of yourself as a hoarder, but you just might be.  You are a hoarder if you hold on to  feelings of hurt,  pain, fear, sadness, guilt, jealously, lack or hate.   All those feelings are negative and hold you back in life.   I can honesty say I let go of the junk I had been holding onto for years I am now able to live.   Those feelings are all valid feelings, but still hold you under water, unable to breathe life into the heart of your desires.

Thankfully we have free will so we can choose to live how we want so choosing  happiness, joy, love, peace, faith, abundance, forgiveness and letting go of the negative junk in our minds  will ultimately free us from the bondage we have been holding ourselves in.  It doesn’t matter if  life up to this point isn’t what you wanted.  Let go of those thoughts and feelings and adopt thoughts and feelings more like what you desire.  Throw out that old negative ”stuff”  in your mind and  your life will thank you.

Negative and positive will not co-exist, so getting rid of the negative junk in our mind and heart will clear up space for more of the good stuff, and we are always looking for ways to have more of the good stuff.   More joy, happiness, peace and abundance.  If you want it you can have it, if you will make room for it.

How to make room for the good suff?  This may be easy or difficult that is up to you.  Repetition of good thoughts will conquer old thoughts.  What I am talking about are affirmations of positive thoughts and actions.

1. Every time you have negative thought, feeling or action – recognize it, dismiss it and replace it with the exact opposite positive thought, feeling or action.   Do that every time you have a negative thought, feeling or action.

2. Clear your mind of thought through meditation several times a day.

3. Recite or listen to  affirmations throughout the day to get you thinking positively on a regular basis

4. Align yourself with the good stuff by seeking out things, places or event that resemble what you desire to bring into you life

Last thought – Out with the old and in with the new.

Just when I think I have all the answers I find a blog about exactly what I wanted to share.  This post is about motivating yourself into action.  We can find so many reasons not to take action.  Some real some imagined, but either way action must be taken in order to have what you desire.  Of course you can sit around waiting for your “cheese” to arrive or you can go get it.

Even as I coach others I have to take action daily, setting my intentions for the week the day and I have to actively move in achievement of those goals.   This post at personal Development Blog Master give you steps to motivate yourself to action.

Try these techniques to motivate yourself to take action:

Taking action towards your dreams and goals is clearly vital, but it’s not always easy to stay consistent and build momentum.
